Inside

The seams are bursting, one by one.
And I spend all my energy on repairing them.
I pull the thread tightly through the holes of my mind.
Tugging desperately, as to not let the inner child in me tell everyone how I feel.

I want to scream and I want them to listen.
To listen and understand.
To understand and react.

That little monster scratching at my throat.
I want to spit it out and never let it back in again.
But I cradle it in thorns next to my heart.
As I smile wearily and move on.
